Research Associate, Antibody Technologies - Engineering & Expression

Seattle Genetics, Inc. is a new and growing biotechnology company based in Bothell, Washington.The Company is in clinical and preclinical development with several targeted agents for the treatment of carcinomas, melanomas, and hematologic malignancies. Seattle Genetics also has an active drug discovery effort.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

We seek an outstanding individual with a successful track record in protein engineering and expression to join our Antibody Technologies Department. The successful candidate will play a significant role in engineering antibodies for human cancer therapy. Responsibilities will span from molecular biology through recombinant production, purification and in vitro characterization of antibodies and other proteins.

Requirements:

Well- qualified candidates will have a BS/MS degree in the biological sciences with 2+ years of research laboratory experience. Required skills include extensive DNA cloning and mutagenesis experience, PCR, mammalian cell culture and transfection and protein purification. Additional experience in cell-based assay and ELISA techniques is strongly preferred. Experience with large-scale protein generation in mammalian cell suspension cultures is desirable. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel is required. Particularly encouraged to apply are highly motivated individuals with excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment.
