Work in association with the Institutional Review Board Manager to support activities carried out in compliance with Benaroya Research Institute and Virginia Mason Medical Center’s "Federal-Wide Assurances of Compliance with DHHS Regulations for Protection of Human Research Subjects." Support the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other regulatory committees. Duties include: Collect, pre-screen, request corrections, review and prepare all documents for monthly board meetings (new applications, progress reports, amendments, etc.), prepare the agendas, take highly complex minutes, compose detailed letters to investigators, follow up on all board requests to assure compliance has been met in a timely manner and process final approval documents. Maintain all IRB committee records in both computer and hard copy versions. Serve as resource for Coordinators and Investigators regarding the adaptation and implementation of IRB policies/procedures/forms. B.S. or B.A. required and either two years IRB/Human Subjects experience or two years experience in admin support to research projects/grants. Superior organizational, analytical, writing, time management, multi-tasking and interpersonal communication skills required. Computer and word-processing proficiency. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
