NanoString Technologies, Inc.Research Scientist, Molecular Biology or Nucleic Acid ChemistryNanoString Technologies is developing a patent-pending nanotechnology-based platform for high speed, completely automated, robust, highly multiplexed, single molecule identification and digital quantification. The NanoString system uniquely barcodes each individual target molecule, scans them, and delivers a literal inventory of single molecules in the biological sample. Applications include gene expression analysis, genotyping, proteomics, clinical diagnostics and, in the future, personalized medicine. NanoString Technologies is a spin out from Leroy Hood’s lab at the Institute for Systems Biology and is located at the north end of Lake Union in Seattle, WA. NanoString is looking for creative, ambitious, hard working team members who want to work on cutting edge technology in a very exciting, fast paced company that has the opportunity to make significant change. Responsibilities include designing assays, research planning, implementation and completion of experiments with respect to product development. Specific areas of expertise desired include DNA/RNA hybridizations, enzymatic manipulations of nucleic acids, DNA/RNA labeling, chemical modifications of DNA, DNA/RNA purification and fluorescence. Ph.D. and experience in Nucleic Acid Chemistry and Molecular Biology. Experience with protocol development required.
