Scientist/Senior Scientist, ADME/Toxicology
Ikaria is an exciting new company located in Seattle dedicated to the development and commercialization of new products based on reversible metabolic control for its use as a treatment for acute trauma, during surgery and extending the length of time that organs and tissues are viable for transplantation.
Description:
We are seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our Preclinical Pharmacology Group. The successful candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic ADME/Toxicologist to support our lead projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement protocols for the pharmacokinetic and toxicologic characterization of Ikaria’s metabolic regulators and their metabolites.
- Conduct preliminary ADMET studies in-house.
- Collaborate with bioanalytical scientists to develop and implement assays for biomarkers.
- Manage pharmacokinetic and toxicologic studies at CRO’s.
- Participate in efficacy pharmacology studies, as needed.
- Contribute study reports for inclusion in regulatory filings.
- Train and supervise research associate(s).
- Communicate important findings and results to management. Make presentations within Ikaria as well as at external scientific meetings.
Requirements:
- PhD or DVM with pharmacology or toxicology expertise plus a minimum of three (3) years (Scientist) or five (5) years (Senior Scientist) experience in pharma and/or biotechnology.
- Proven experience with pre-clinical development of small molecule therapeutics.
- Prior experience developing parenteral products desirable.
- Documented track-record in contributing ADME/Tox data to IND applications.
- Experience in outsourcing and monitoring GLP studies to support regulatory filings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous supervisory experience desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with relevant software packages.
