Performs daily care and maintenance tasks for mice including: washing, sanitizing and sterilizing supplies, cleaning and changing cages, checking cage/room supplies and maintaining the general appearance and cleanliness of the vivarium. This position also performs daily animal health checks (illness, births, etc) sample procurement and weaning. Additional duties include record keeping and database maintenance. Requires attention to detail and ability to operate cage cleaning/sanitizing equipment. Must possess basic knowledge or willingness to learn how to care for animal health and handling animals. Requires high school education or equivalent. Must be able to push or pull 100 lbs. and carry 50 lbs in conjunction with another co-worker. Other requirements include attention to detail, good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. EEO – M/F
