Research Associate, Pre-clinical Toxicology

The primary responsibilities of this position are to conduct in vivo investigative toxicology studies in support of discovery research projects including:

  • Establishing protocols, collection of in vivo data, coordination of activities with the formulation, analytical, bioanalytical and clinical pathology laboratories, collation and evaluation of data, and generation of final study reports.
  • Working closely with members of the Preclinical Studies Department and project development teams, conducts investigative toxicology studies that provide input for the selection of potential drug development candidates and assist in elucidating mechanisms of toxicity.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in biology related field (i.e. pharmacology, toxicology, physiology).
  • Experience performing in vivo toxicology or efficacy studies is required.
  • Experience with dose administration through oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal routes.
  • Experience with Blood/plasma/serum collection is required.
  • Necropsy and tissue collection.
  • Strong leadership skills, detail-oriented, and ability to take initiative as this individual will be responsible for coordination of the many activities required to successfully conduct investigative toxicology studies.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to work effectively with others to set appropriate goals and meet project timelines.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e. word, excel).
  • Evening/weekend shifts may be required as necessary.
