Blood Cell Storage, Inc. (BCSI)Research and Development Scientist IBCSI is a medical device company based in Seattle, Washington dedicated to developing non-invasive systems to measure human cell function. BCSI’s products do not violate the sterility of the container. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: BCSI is looking for an individual to join a multi-disciplinary research and development team consisting of engineers, chemists and microbiologists that is developing non-invasive biochemical sensor technologies. The applicant will participate in the design of experiments and assays and also work at the bench to perform theses tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in a physical science such as engineering and/or chemistry. Advanced degree may be substituted for some of the experience requirement. Job requires one year of experience in an R&D;, or engineering environment. Practical hands-on experience in product development and engineering is required. Experience with fluorescence measurements and/or solid support chemistry is a plus. Related experience includes computer skills (familiarity with Microsoft Office, and data handling and statistical programs). The successful candidate will demonstrate a working knowledge and application of principles and theories of the engineering profession and experimental design.
