Seattle Genetics, Inc. is a new and growing biotechnology company based in Bothell, Washington.The Company is in clinical and preclinical development with several targeted agents for the treatment of carcinomas, melanomas, and hematologic malignancies. Seattle Genetics also has an active drug discovery effort.
Major Duties:
We have an opening for a Research Associate in our Biochemistry group to participate in activity screening of small molecules, antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates and other targeted drug delivery systems. Drug candidates will be analyzed using a variety of cell based and cell free systems. Responsibilities include cell culture, performing screening assasy, maintaining small molecule/drug-conjugate activity databases of screened compounds and conjugates, summarization and presentation of data at departmental meetings. This individual will interact on an independent level with members of Chemistry and Experimental Therapeutics departments on a regular basis.
Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position will hold a BS or MS in biological sciences and 3+ years experience in the areas of cell culture, cytotoxicity assays, and flow cytometry. Individuals with experience with, ELISA, laboratory automation and PCR are highly desirable. Other requisite skills include familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint as well as other data reduction software packages. Experience working with radioisotopes is a plus, as is experience using database management software. Experience in an applied drug discovery setting is desirable.
