Introduction
Zomacton is used to treat growth failure in children and adults who lack natural growth hormone. This includes people with short stature due to Turner syndrome, short stature at birth with no catch-up growth, and other causes.
Zomacton may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
You should not use Zomacton if you have cancer, diabetic retinopathy, or if you are being treated for Prader-Willi syndrome and you are overweight or have severe breathing problems. You should not use this medicine if you have a serious illness due to lung failure or complications from recent surgery, injury, or medical trauma.

How it works?
Zomacton binds to dimeric GH receptors located within the cell membranes of target tissue cells. This interaction results in intracellular signal transduction and subsequent induction of transcription and translation of GH-dependent proteins including IGF-1, IGF BP-3 and acid-labile subunit. Somatropin has direct tissue and metabolic effects or effects mediated indirectly by IGF-1, including stimulation of chondrocyte differentiation, and proliferation, stimulation of hepatic glucose output, protein synthesis, and lipolysis.
Somatropin stimulates skeletal growth in pediatric patients with GHD as a result of effects on the growth plates (epiphyses) of long bones. The stimulation of skeletal growth increases linear growth rate (height velocity) in most somatropin-treated pediatric patients. Linear growth is facilitated in part by increased cellular protein synthesis.

Review 1
Works great. Easy to use. Air gun makes a bigger hole than needle, and often bleeds. We use a mini bandage to protect sheets and pjs. The air gun is quite loud and can cause a jump scare in anxious children like my daughter. We used for a year until our free trial ran out. We are now switching back to needles which do not hurt more than the tear the air gun leaves but my daughter wanted to try needle free because of anxiety the needle might break inside her.

My 14 y/o son has taken Zomacton for a year now. The only pain he experiences is a the slight needle stick during injection. Before Zomacton had hadn’t grown (height or weight) at all in the last 2 years. He’s put on 9 pounds and 4 inches!
